[Updated] Dom Post has a little write up and 2 great pictures of these boats sinking into the waves at a cost of around $30,000 to the Wellington ratepayer.

  

As reported a few weeks ago, the Miramar "boat yard" is slowly emptying of the rusting hulks. Rod Drury has a great picture of 2 (out of 3) boats being dragged away by the cool-as red Wellington tug boats*

Papunya Light Show, 2026

On Sunday (11th Oct) evening an absolutely stunning lightning storm flashed it's way slowly over Papunya and I managed to capture some of it on my phone camera. The storm started at dusk and continued into the dead of the night so the phone camera struggled to capture the true majesty of it all, but it did a pretty good job. Yep, all of you that voted in the Second Annual Wellingtonista Awards will get to find out who has won Best Breakfast and Best Suburban Venue from yours truly around 7pm-ish.
