Did you know that the
Internet Archive has an ever growing archive of all of the open web? Every single page, where it's been allowed and has come to their attention, is being archived so that if the original disappears for whatever reason, you can still find a snapshot of it. To access this archive you use the
Wayback Machine.
This blog is safely stored deep within AND not just a one-off snapshot but many versions over the years.
The blog's homepage has been saved 208 times between September 10, 2008 and October 6, 2024 (at time of writing this). Each post will have it's own stats, mostly one or two saves.
The Internet Archive has saved my arse a number of times, but most recently it's been a source of images, but first, let me tell you a story. Back in the day this blog's web address was merely miramarmike.blogger.com ... in fact underlying it all, it still is. This was then mapped to blog.mikeriversdale.co.nz. HOWEVER, during a move down to Christchurch I had a brain fart and started a brand new blog called ChCh-Changes, a whole new one, and downloaded / uploaded all the posts and then deleted the original blog. What a wally! After a while I then returned to Miramar and MiramaMike became a much more permanent fixture. Time for another brainfart - I downloaded and uploaded the posts from ChCh-Changes into a brand new MiramarMike blog and deleted that blog, only for some toerag to jump on the old address and keep it even though it was empty of old posts ... again what a wally I was to let it go, never again.
And so, whilst this blog has been going since December 2004 the Internet Archive only has it saved since 2008 when all my blog address shenanigans finally stopped.
No-one has any idea what the blog looked like between 2005 and 2008, my recollection is of a basic looking site, but who really knows
I've uploaded
full page screenshots of archived pages as they change in theme - the following are the top sections only:

Here's an archival nightmare choice I made, my use of the dynamic Blogger themes ... yup, poor old Wayback Machine just can't render it, how annoying eh.

So that's two years of unknown look-and-feel but I finally went back to more static and archival friendly modes ...
