Art At The Welsh-y Library
It's got books, but as we know it's got exhibitions about a lot of things Welsh-y, um, Welsh-esque, no, Welsh-y.

Art, a lot of brilliant (and some, hmmm, not so) contemporary art was on display at The National Library Of Wales.
My favourite four ...
Shannon, age 16, has the words ‘Kiss it!’ tattooed. Fascinating background to this and other photos of Shannon.

Middle right: Salem, by Sydney Curnow Vosper, 1908
Salem is an iconic record of Welsh life and the non-conformist tradition in Wales. It depicts a scene at Salem Chapel, Cefn Cymerau, Llanbedr, where Siân Owen is the central character of the painting. This work is one of two versions painted by Vosper. The first was originally purchased by an industrialist called William Hesketh Lever and was used in a far reaching promotional campaign by Sunlight Soap, the Lever Brothers' company. As a result, reproductions of the painting were widely circulated around Britain and the image is famous for its appearance in homes across Wales.
Note: if you have watched series 1, episode 1, of Hinterland: "Devil's Bridge*" you will also know the legend of the hidden Devil's face in the clothing.

Back in 1997 the vote for Welsh devolution referendum happened, it was close, very close!
National referendum results (excluding invalid votes)
- Agree/Cytuno: 559,419 (50.3%)
- Disagree/Anghytuno: 552,698 (49.7%)
The overall result was declared in the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. The proceeding officer was Professor Eric Sunderland. The results of all 22 local authority areas were announced individually, and the result was close enough that everything in fact hung on the announcement from Carmarthenshire, which carried the Yes vote.
The difference between the 'agree' and 'disagree' vote was 6,721.
