Saw this from Katherine Parkinson and thought, what a great idea.

  • Jo
  • Rob

1. The first song I fell in love with

I think it was the Beatles, Help. My parents had the album and I loved the song, so yeah, Help.

2. The first gig I went to

That was Rainbow on their Bent Out Of Shape world tour at Cardiff St David's Hall in September 1983. Christ it was loud, but amazing fun! My mate Rob and I were 16 years old.
Tour programme, Rainbow 1983/84

3. The song I wish I’d written

I don't know if there is a song I wish I had written, I'm very happy that someone has written a lot of song and I've never had a hankering to ever write a song.

Maybe a Christmas #1, perhaps Slade's Merry Christmas Everyone, and then sit back and just enjoy the decades of not working and letting the royalties roll in, which is about £500,000 per year.

4. The song I do at karaoke

I have managed to avoid karaoke so far and I intend making it a clean sweep this life.

5. The song I can’t get out of my head

It changes all the time. Right now it's Not Fair by Lily Allen coz I was talking about her on the weekend, and it is such a great song.

6. The song I can no longer listen to

Hmmm, it used to be I Want To Know What Love Is by Foreigner but that was about a girlfriend from so long ago now it barely registers for me when it's being played.

Nope, there's no song that I can't listen to. If it's associated with someone then I remember the good times and smile.

7. The song I want played at my funeral

Just one? you're 'aving a larf aintcha?! I am so prepared, Mike's funeral playlist. Pop this on shuffle and let the great memories roll.

8. The song that makes me want to dance

Dancing Queen by Abba. Or perhaps Rockin' All Over The World by Status Quo. Nah, has to be Connected by Stereo MC's.
This is tough, many many others will also make want to dance. I hardly ever do though, silly eh.

Oh, and I actually did a Soundtrack To My Life album in 2005. I really should do side 2 one day.
