Here's another podcast I think you could pop on your subscription list and 'enjoy', the BBCs weekly 10-15 minute The Skewer.

'Enjoy' in The Skewer's sense is quite a complex wee beastie. It is funny, it is clever (VERY), it is topical/satirical, of course it is all of these things. It has also made me cry, happy, galvinated, and even furious.

It's feels like a billion is just a bit bigger than a million. Obviously it's bigger but it fits on the same scale as a million, surely. It doesn't. A billion is so so so much bigger than a million. I've trawled the internet finding graphics and videos that show the VAST difference between one million and one billion. In the olden days we had a collection of cook books, scraps of handwritten recipes stuffed in, and a handful ripped out pages from magazines. These days it's electronic. We have a collection of cooking websites, scraps of typed in notes stuffed between to do lists, YouTube videos bookmarked, and a handful of screenshots from Facebook. We never got better we just spaffed it all over the Internet. Then along came Cooked . Cooked is a new(ish) site that takes any recipe off any website, handwritten notes, even YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok cookery videos and turns them into actual recipes saved under your free account. The office has all been moved around - new desks (with starter handles to raise and lower them), new high(er) speed network and ... the same old work.
