Happy 4th Birthday Twisted Hop, Christchurch (Saturday 23rd)

Whilst my short time in Christhchurch may not have been the most amazing in my life (excepting the birth of my daughter Meg!!) I will always look fondly on the brew pub that produces the finest beer in New Zealand - The Twisted Hop

I met Amy during my first week at the Council and she kindly invited me along to the Dev Team Friday drinks at a "good little pub just around the corner". As the sun shone down on my reddening head I thought I had die and gone to heaven - thank you Amy!

On Saturday 23rd August they are celebrating their fourth birthday:
Hi Folks

Hoppy Birthday

On Saturday 23rd August we will be celebrating our fourth birthday.

To mark the special occasion we will be launching a new seasonal brew, a double IPA (that means double the hops) weighing in at a brain numbing 8% ABV, should make for a very Happy Birthday! We estimate that appoximately 70 hop cones go into every pint, and with a resulting 80 units of bitterness it is over twice as bitter as Challenger. And as if that weren't enough, from 12 noon we will have half price Challenger and half price Sauvin Pilsner through til 6pm.

If the weather improves we will be throwing a few sausages on the barbie, and mid afternoon we will have 'Twisted Brass' a newly formed brass quartet entertaining us with some favourite tunes in the Piazza.

Thank you to all our loyal Hop Club members for your valued custom over the past 4 years, we hope to see you all at the Hop next weekend.

Cheers

Martin & Stephen

I am VERY jealous - do pop along and have a Challenger for me.
