Orries playing well
My local rugby club is the (not quite so) mighty "Orries", Oriental-Rongotai who's home ground is just a few minutes away at the Polo Ground here in Miramar. They've supplied 2 recent sensations, All Black Ma’a Nonu and New Zealand Sevens, Highlanders and Waikato representative Roy Kinikinilau which is quite cool ... if you rate these two players that is.
Anyway, a good weekend as the Orries beat the local opposition, Poneke, 24-14 which puts them into the mid-table and in the Jubilee Cup for the first time in 5 years.
If you're on the Miramar Peninsula then check out your local rugby site: http://www.ories.org.nz but more importantly get along to Marist St Pats this coming Saturday (3pm, Evans Bay Park) and shout out for the Orries
Oh, and it seems that the ever consistent Miramar Rangers are doing very well on the Central League football table ... top!

Established in 1888 as the Oriental FC and through amalgamations of smaller clubs over time, a 1969 amalgamation with Rongotai Old Boys saw it become Oriental – Rongotai FC. (Rongotai – “sound of the sea”)
