A meme for me ... and you (Martha, Tom, David, Daan and Sandy)

I've been meme tagged by Spentrails and, despite years ago complaining to the world that they suck because they were coming out 1 every second, I'm quite chuffed. The passion/fad for memes seems to have died down and I don't see so many ... or I am now a public no-meme zone due to previous meme grumpiness?

Anywho, Spentrails has asked me to do/complete/participate in the 'Desktop Free View' meme. I will have to cut-n-paste the details as she's had to limit her blog to invite only due to weirdos in the world finding her and trying to reacquaint themselves by leaving stupid comments:
Here's what you need to do:

A. Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop.
It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun. Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and do a Paste (CTRL + V). If you wish, you can “edit” the image, before saving it.

You can do a screen capture by going to your desktop:
  • Windows: press the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key).
  • Macs: press shift-option-3 then look for the .png file on your desktop.

B. Post the picture in your blog.
You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop just below it if you want. You can explain why you preferred such look or why is it full of icons. Things like that.

C. Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktop as well.

D. Add your name to the list of Free Viewers below with a link pointing directly to your Desktop Free View post to promote it to succeeding participants.

The background picture is Fog and Street Lights, Monmouth (Flickr original). And, as is no surprise to anyone, I have bvgger all on my desktop because I don't store anything on the PC, none of the Riversdale's do - we're totally online.

So, what can you see:
  • Shortcut to My Pictures - when they come of the camera they go there and then I upload them to Flickr
  • Shortcut to Shared Documents - I think because that's where the video component off the camera goes and then I burn to DVD (not online yet!)
  • Mozilla Firefox - !
  • Flickr Uploadr - !!
  • MikeAtTheKeep.jpg - my standard 'online profile/account' picture all ready to be uploaded
  • flickr.txt - a text file (opens in Notepad) that has a set of standard tags I use when uploading pictures
  • arkhayman.pdf - an Enterprise 2.0 pdf (I think) that I really REALLY must get around to reading

It's feels like a billion is just a bit bigger than a million. Obviously it's bigger but it fits on the same scale as a million, surely. It doesn't. A billion is so so so much bigger than a million. I've trawled the internet finding graphics and videos that show the VAST difference between one million and one billion. Oh, and just to finish with a different misconception about space starting with the classic opening line from the great Douglas Adams and The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy : “Space is big.
