Wellington was brilliant
Thanks for asking.
I had a cracking time and it was all down to my mates there. It was brilliant hanging out with them all, seeing everyone and ... well, I loved it.
The place itself is still the best city in NZ and my second favourite place in the world (London still does it for me). BUT, I did notice that there was something missing when I power walked my way down Lambton Quay on Saturday afternoon towards my brunch at Mezzaluna, Tinakori Road - and the missing things were:

BUT, I did notice that there was something missing when I power walked my way down Lambton Quay on Saturday afternoon towards my brunch at Mezzaluna, Tinakori Road - and the missing things were:
- Liz, Jack and Meg
- My own place ... my nest
Apart from that it rocked and I got to do most of things I wanted to do (didn't do movie or Te Papa - no time).
Highlights:
- Beers with Big Pete at The Twisted Hop, Christchurch - got me in the Wellington mood
- The flight in (I nearly blubbed it was so homecoming-y)
- Catching up with PP, Chicks and TP at The Thistle Inn
- Everyone at Malthouse
- Otago beating Canterbury
- Dancing and fantabulous-ish drinks at Kitty's
- Bed all made up at KK and Pete's!
- Power walk from Newtown to Tinakori Road for brunch with Adam, Just and Kim
- Using up all of Adam's shopping mojo at one shop in a 30 minute burst
- Hanging out with Adam
- NON-highlight: the refurbished Brewery Bar, ick!
- Red wine and catch-up with Jude and Josh at The Embassy
- Awesome Indian meal with loads of people at Great India
- Lie-in (lahverly) followed by a lift in to town from Pete
- Wholly Bagels with Mindi
Anyone any idea why they aren't in Christchurch? I had to buy a whole stack to bring back for the Wellingtonians and those that have exprienced them - Lift to the airport from Wendy (and getting more baby clothes :-)
- Buying two cracking books
Genghis Khan: Life Death and Resurrection by John Man
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova - Hugs and cheers from Jack when I walked down the stairs at Christchurch Airport
