I'd like to thank Jesus Christ
Why not, every bugger on that Idol show seems to want to so I thought I'd join in.
I take it it's quite hip and the thang to be in with the Lord at the moment - is that what's going down in your parish? As for me, well, I don't really care - go for it, your God is your God and whatever gets you through the day without hurting other people is sweet from my point of view.
I don't need to agree and I hope people who are in wiv God don't feel the need to ram it down my throat. Some have in the recent past and it wasn't a pleasant experience. In fact, it was a very nasty time - position plus posturing isn't pretty.
I actually think it's pretty neat that people think about the "spiritual" side of things. It's quite easy to concentrate on the 3 other aspects of life - physical, emotional and cognitive - and not stop and wonder in awe at the universe and our place in it.
The bigger questions of why am I here (to do the best I can), who put me here (my Mum and Dad and everyone else who's known me) and where are we going (forward but with frequent sight seeing stops) are easy to miss without having a breather and taking time and space to ask.
What I don't like is people supplying me their own answers to questions that I haven't asked.
And even worse, those that insist that there is only ONE answer to the ONE question.
Diversity it ain't. Respectful it ain't. Being grown up it ain't.
I finish with a quote about such things from Dave Barry:

People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.
