Welsh Wales

A dairy* in Betws-y-coed was my first encounter with Welsh being spoken and it made my soul soar.

We Pākehā** do our best with the national language of the land we're standing upon. We drop in a "bore da" when we can, a "mōrena" when appropriate, and even an, "apples.and pears" if called upon.

To hear the language spoken as naturally as the wind blowing through the leaves is another level though, and so so cool.

"Welsh Wales" indeed. A phrase used by my Dad actually to denote the Gogs who spoke a language designed to annoyed the English*** 😁
