Whilst my love of a cozy murder knows no limits, give me a Midsomer Murder, a Poirot mystery, a Vera investigation, a Sherlock Holmes case any time of the day or night and you will find me a happy man.

Lovejoy is slightly different, more "scallywag" times with a good dollop of antique crime, uppercrust venues, a good country pub, characters galore, and glorious supporting regulars - who can't love Tink.

I have recently acquired all six series and whilst I know the later ones are a little threadbare I am absolutely wallowing in the glories of series 2. A glass of red wine, a wink from Lovejoy straight down the camera, and we know we're in for a cracking 40 minutes of square-ratio escapism.

Oh, and would you believe it, I know of someone with the surname "Lovejoy", makes me smile and hum the theme tune every time.
