Hancock's Half Hour

A radio show from the 1950s on stage in the 2020s, must prove something.

Nostalgia is alive and kicking amongst those who were there or who's parents would tell you about it.

Hancock's Half Hour shows still stand as great comedy writing. The acting (impersonations?) were excellent, especially 'Sid James' and 'Kenneth Williams'.

Finally, as it was staged as an actual radio recording it did feel a tad like seeing behind the wizards curtain.

If you ever get a chance absolutely go.

A red lit stage curtain backs 6 actors in 1950s clothing. 4 men in suits are standing looking at their scripts and 2 are reading out their lines into standing mics. To the right is a desk with "BBC" sign on the front. Some backs of audience heads, highlighted in red are at the bottom of the photo.
