The Difference Between One Million And One Billion

It's feels like a billion is just a bit bigger than a million. Obviously it's bigger but it fits on the same scale as a million, surely. It doesn't. A billion is so so so much bigger than a million. I've trawled the internet finding graphics and videos that show the VAST difference between one million and one billion. Oh, and just to finish with a different misconception about space starting with the classic opening line from the great Douglas Adams and The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy : “Space is big. Sharing calendars can be both: an effective way of letting everyone know a complete and utter technical pain in the bottomly region If you've posted up an events page onto your website you know how difficult it is to keep up to date, how the readers have to keep coming back to get the latest changes and don't even think about integrating with somebody else's "events page". Ok, so we all know the problem. What's the solution? iCalendar (normally shortened to iCal) ... yep, it's a geek word that you will come to know and love just as much as RSS. Diabetes, Type 2

Being diagnosed with a disease is quite the ride, I can tell you. It's been a while since I noticed something not quite correct, sweating for no apparent reason . I left it until I had my checkup before heading to Wales for a few months.  Before the checkup I had got a bunch of blood tests done, as always. The doctor let me know that I was moving closer and closer to being in the diabetic range. He and I agreed that whilst it had been building slowly over a year or so I should not worry, go travelling, and on my return get some more blood tests and we'll take it from there. [.. Flight out. Wales Trip. Flight back ..] Back at the doctor's in February, yeah, definitely have diabetes, type 2. Diabetes is a chronic disease as a result of the body not creating enough insulin to keep blood glucose (sugar) levels in the normal range. The Conference, a movie

I'm not into the History Channel style Nazi documentaries, you know the ones that are all graphic and titillation in the presence of horror. Like seeing how close you can stand to the raging bear on the other side of the cage, it gives a rush I s'pose. I'm also not really into war movies and I do try to limit my intake of American (almost always) movies that glorify the gun and that violence is the way. I say try as I do love a good pew pew / bang bang movie but it's not good for ya, inching closer to the raging bear. For me the Holocaust has alway been, um, I don't know what the feeling is ... like staring into the abyss, or standing on the precipice and staring down. Perhaps attempting to work out why the bear is raging. It is so dark, so so evil. I can wrap my head around what, where, when, who, and even why - understanding and agreeing are not the same. But how , how can those in the darkness survive with themselves when they did what they did. On 20 January 194
